I have decided to research the importance of the arts, specifically - dance, music, art, and theatre as a topic for my policy brief. Equity, efficiency, effectiveness, and political feasibility will "frame" the task at hand. Unfortunately, when resources are not as abundant as one would like, the arts in education are usually the first area to be eliminated. I would be interested to know what others think.

ReplyDeleteWell I have been engrossed with the readings as well as searching for scholarly articles for the policy issue paper dealing with The Importance of the Arts in Education. Dr. Caldas has been most helpful is assisting me with generating essential questions under each category. I am also in the porcess of completing my own EAP, not to mention the readings for Dr. Wan's class. Lynda Handley has been most helpful. Sometimes, I feel overwhelmed; but, regardless of the demands, I am enjoying the journey.
