One Year Later - Summer 2013
The data has been collected, and my Chapter Four draft is ready for submission. I hope to submit it to my committee in August 2013. The summer has afforded me the time and energy to complete Chapter Four and move on to Chapter Five.

Spring / Summer Session 2012
It was a busy spring/summer session 2012...in addition to completing the required courses, I had my dissertation proposal defense on June 21, 2012. Major revisions are in the works, and I have been meeting regularly with Dr. Monson and my advisor, Dr. Wan. Both have offered constructive criticism which has allowed me to move forward in the process. Dr. Hochman's Culture, Politics, and Educational Change Class has been exciting and most rewarding. Onward and upward!

Community Forum - Pelham - January 21, 2012 & February 2012
The Community Forum in Pelham on January 21, 2012 was truly an eye opener! Field notes were taken and promptly handed to the facilitator as per Dr. Monson, who really presented the community with two essential questions to be addressed. Despite the snow storm, it was outstanding! I should be submitting my revised draft of Chapters 1 & 2 to Dr.'s Wan & Monson this week. The Community Relations & Education course sounds exciting!

A Busy Semester Indeed!
Emerging Financial & Legal Issues in Education was a well-designed course by Dr. Marien who peaked our interest with emerging issues affecting education - tax cap, tax levy, collective bargaining, just to name a few. Lit-Review has been submitted to Dr. Monson & Chapter One to Dr. Wan. The month of January will be spent completing edits & revisions and "tweaking" my e-portfolio. Until then.

First Draft Submitted to Dr. Monson
The first draft of the lit-review has been submitted. I am sure it will need major revisions, and I am looking forward to receiving the edits. Once received, I will then revise and then submit the lit review to Dr. Wan for his review. Submitted a personal reflection for Dr. Marien's course titled: the aims of education, and how it relates to the educational core - student, teacher, and content. Looking forward to the tax-cap discussion on Thursday 10/6/11.

Pressing Onward
The summer is over, and so is my first draft of the literature review for Dr. Monson. I will be anxious to receive feedback in order to polish the first draft. I have begun to concentrate on Dr. Marien's course, which I am finding most intriguing. My conversations with Dr. Wan via e-mail has proven to be most helpful as I solidify my dissertation design. Stay tuned!

Literature Review - Dissertation - Due - October 1, 2011
I now have begun my first draft of Article 1 (Literature Review) of my three-article dissertation due on or before October 1, 2011. Lynda Hanley has been very helpful in showing me where to gather the research and scholarly articles to complete this next stage. I will be spending countless hours in the library; however, I know its all worth it.
